Coliseum at the Roundabout 

We are recruiting a number of staff to support both the build and the run of Coliseum at the Roundabout, a 167-seater pop-up theatre that will host an artistic programme - including a variety of live events - from April until mid-July 2024. Focusing on work made in Oldham, the Coliseum at the Roundabout will bring relevant and entertaining stories for the whole family to enjoy.  

 

Venue Assistant and Operator call out (casual)

Venue Assistants will support the Duty Managers to ensure an excellent and safe welcome for audiences and participants. 

Operators’ roles encompass theatre technician duties such as operating lighting and sound and supporting the Technical team to provide appropriate proactive and creative technical production support as well as stage management work to support the delivery of our programme. 

We are looking for people who will be available regularly and particularly on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Shifts are generally 3.5 to 5 hours in length. Training on equipment and processes will be provided as required.

Duty Technician (fixed term)

The Duty Technician, working closely with the Technical Manager, is responsible for the smooth and efficient day to day running of all technical aspects of the programme.

Based onsite, you will be confident with the ETC lighting desk thanks to a two-day training programme provided as part of this contract. During the technical rehearsals, you will support in house productions and visiting companies with lighting and sound set up. During performances, you will be based backstage, ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures, solving technical issues behind the scenes and liaising with the FOH team.

Duty Managers (casual, up to 3 positions) 

Working closely with the Technical Manager, the Duty Managers are responsible for managing audiences and front of house operations. During performances, you will be based front of house, ensuring an excellent welcome for audiences and participants, compliance with health and safety procedures and liaising with the technical team on any technical issues.
