The Moving Meadow is a vibrant community art project that celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Oldham’s South Asian community while responding to the harmful effects of climate change. It engages the women from The CHAI project in creating large puppets and artworks inspired by beloved aspects of nature and wildlife from the countries of their heritage, utilising the broad range of skills the ladies already bring to the table. The project culminates in a procession of animals and flowers significant to the group.
Crooked Arts is a company founded to bring communities together through visually striking and thought-provoking art. With backgrounds in Applied Theatre and Community Drama, they combine our skills in participatory arts, theatre, and visual storytelling to create work that invites people to engage, reflect, collaborate, and respond. Their journey began with a shared passion for using the arts to explore social issues and give communities a platform to express themselves. Cara’s work focuses on empowering communities to address pressing issues through creative expression. Archie’s practice blends theatre, visual arts, and mental wellbeing. As a company, they work with a wide range of age groups and communities.
