AUTUMN PROGRAMME 2025 ANNOUNCED

Oldham Coliseum’s Autumn Season Delivers Stories That Unite and Inspire

This autumn, Oldham Coliseum is set to spark imaginations and unite people with a vibrant season of theatre, storytelling, and comedy. The newly announced programme brings together talented artists from across Oldham and beyond, sharing powerful stories that reflect who we are and what connects us. The season is a mix of visiting performances and work made by Oldham Coliseum with some of our local partners.

From local tales to nationally recognised stories, audiences will experience bold new work in welcoming spaces across the borough as the Coliseum continues to build on its mission to bring theatre closer to home.

Audiences can look forward to a thrilling variety of performances and events, including:

  • Based on true events, the UK’s first Theatre Company of Sanctuary, Stand and Be Counted in co-production with Oldham Coliseum presents Ripples, an urgent and electrifying interrogation of 21st century Britain and the relentless power of hope.
  • Rhum + Clay perform in Oldham for the first time with Dario Fo’s devilishly funny masterpiece, Mistero Buffo, a darkly comic look at the absurdities and inequalities of everyday life, as seen through the eyes and tales of a travelling storyteller. A tour-de-force that won Julian Spooner The Stage’s Award for Best Performance.
  • World record-breaking beatboxer SK Shlomo brings their 5-star sell-out show Shlomo’s Beatbox Adventure for Kids to Oldham during October half term as part of a nationwide tour.
  • After a successful debut earlier in the year, Comedy in a Van returns with Oldham Comedy Club – a fantastic show celebrating the best of stand-up comedy with a diverse range of acts.
  • The Other Neville, a powerful new sports play inspired by netball icon Tracey Neville, tells the inspirational story of breaking down barriers and leaving your mark on the world. This production is a Shared Experience – Local project, a new strand of work from this award-winning company, supporting new voices.
  • HELIOS is an internationally award-winning modern re-telling of an ancient myth, wound round the winding roads of rural England and into the everyday living of a towering city. It’s a story about life, and the invisible monuments we build to it.
  • After the huge success of last year's 'Tales Of The Toymender' Oldham Coliseum is working in association with Oldham Theatre Workshop's professional company and Live@thelibrary to present one of the world's best loved fairytales. Join Hansel & Gretel this Christmas at the Library Theatre for some inventive storytelling, song and laughter.
  • You’re My World - Work in Progress by local theatre maker Mark Newsome is being presented as part of Oldham Coliseum’s Artist Development programme, giving audiences the exclusive opportunity to see this brand-new production in development.

Rose Sergent, Oldham Coliseum Programme Manager, said: “We’re really excited to unveil an exciting new season of theatre that offers something for everyone. Whether you love gripping drama, laugh-out-loud comedy, or brilliant family entertainment, our autumn programme promises unforgettable experiences for all - audiences are in for a fantastic time".

Martina Murphy, CEO of Oldham Coliseum, added: "This autumn, we’re once again taking theatre beyond the traditional stage and out into the heart of Oldham as part of our commitment to bring brilliant live experiences to you.
