An Oldham Coliseum Theatre production
“This is a quietly – but utterly – magnificent piece of writing. Be a visitor to it.” ★★★★★ Evening Standard
In a rural farmhouse, a family is falling apart. Stephen can’t afford to put his mother into care; Arthur can’t afford to stop working and look after his wife.
When a young stranger with blue hair moves in to care for Edie as her mind unravels, the entire family are forced to question what the future holds and who gets to choose how they live their lives.
Visitors was Barney Norris’s first full length work for stage and premiered at The Arcola Theatre, London in 2014, winning the Critics Circle Award for Most Promising Playwright and Best New Play at the Off West End Theatre Awards. Tender, acute and wryly funny, Visitors is a story about ageing, care and families, but most of all an ode to life-long love.
