Boomtown Gals

It's 1915, and Oldham is a boomtown of industry. Local Music Hall actress Sarah Rosebury stops treading the boards, and sets off to rescue her brother Sid - as he's only gone and signed up to serve in the army. Helped by her friends, she heads for the frontline in France to save him.

In 2015 people from across Oldham, including members of the Coliseum's Full Circle group, took part in a World War One research project funded by the Heritage Lottery fund. Weeks of research unearthed some awe-inspiring stories.

Peppered with songs, and filled with humour, Boomtown Gals is a World War One quest., celebrating the true stories of some wonderful Oldham women who lived, loved and worked through The Great War.

The play will be followed by a Q&A.
