Community cast call out – performers required!
Oldham Coliseum Theatre
6.30pm – Monday 19 June 2017
A thrilling piece of new theatre is coming to Rochdale and Oldham – and it needs local performers to help bring it to life onstage.
Rugby In The Blood!
Rugby In The Blood is a new play that explores Rochdale and Oldham’s relationship to each other, and to Rugby League, examining the game’s meaning in terms of family, community and shared history. It’s slick, funny and heartfelt. The play tells the story of rugby’s great split in 1895, and the beginnings of rugby league.
Writer Mick Martin, whose previous plays include Once Upon A Time In Wigan and Broken Time, will be producing the play, and he’s calling for local people to be a part of it.
Whether you’d like to perform, stage manage, usher, assist backstage or prompt, we want to hear from you. Come and join in, no experience necessary – just a passionate commitment and a great sense of humour!
Rugby In The Blood will premiere at Touchstones Gallery as part of Rochdale’s 2017 Literature Festival, and will then make a short tour of community venues in both Oldham and Rochdale:
Wednesday 18 October (afternoon, Touchstones, Rochdale)
Wednesday 25 October (evening, The Flying Horse Hotel, Rochdale)
Thursday 26 October (evening, Oldham Library)
Friday 27 October (early evening, Mahdlo Youth Zone, Oldham)
