Pantomime comes to Dr Kershaw’s Hospice

Last week the cast of  Sleeping Beauty paid a visit to Sunfields Day Hospice at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice in Royton, to meet the patients and staff and see the Hospice’s pantomime theme for Christmas 2016.

Each year, Dr Kershaw’s Hospice chooses a theme for Christmas, particularly in Day Hospice, in which the patients can get involved and express themselves through craft or artwork. When pantomime was discussed for the 2016 theme, Barbara Micklethwaite, one of Day Hospice’s volunteers, got in touch with the Coliseum.

Barbara commented: “The Christmas theme is an awful lot of fun for patients at Day Hospice at a time in their lives which is very difficult. I have been delighted with the help and support the Coliseum has given; it’s wonderful how people can work together in the community.”

Dr Kershaw’s do incredible work for Oldham and we were very proud to be there to say a big thank you from everyone here at Oldham Coliseum Theatre.
