We’re looking for friendly and reliable people to join our dedicated team of Customer Experience Volunteers, who play a vital role in the smooth running of the Coliseum.
Oldham Coliseum Theatre is the last surviving professional theatre in Oldham, with a history dating back 131 years. We’re a registered cultural and educational charity and our Customer Experience Volunteers enjoy a busy and varied role which includes meeting and greeting customers, directing audiences to their seats, keeping our audiences safe in case of emergencies, selling refreshments and programmes, answering customer queries and working with other colleagues like Box Office to deliver the very best experience to our customers.

Coliseum Customer Experience Volunteers are customer-facing representatives of the theatre working with a friendly and diverse range of people. This year we received a Customer Service Excellence Badge from TripAdvisor drawn from reviews posted by our audiences.
There’s no experience needed as full training will be provided. You’ll be supported every step of the way by our full-time Customer Services team and you might even uncover hidden talents that you never knew you had working in our exciting and creative environment.
Customer Experience Volunteers need to be available for one session of three-five hours every one to two weeks for a minimum of three months, and have a flexible approach to the schedule. Before you start your first volunteer session you’ll receive a tour of the building, a Front-Of-House uniform and name badge. All our volunteers also receive reasonable travel expenses.
If you’re interested in joining our Customer Experience Volunteer team download an application pack here and return your completed application form by Wednesday 17 August.
Interviews will take place on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 August. Training dates for new volunteers are either Saturday 20 August at 5.30pm or Tuesday 23 August at 6.30pm.
