Mr Darcy Loses the Plot
Jane Austen sits writing, her quill scurrying across the vellum.
She is dreaming up Darcy, a proud, lip curling, handsome creation in very tight pants. But then a door squeaks, a visitor approaches and Jane hastily hides her work. Mr Darcy is left dangling.
Left to his own devices he embroiders his own storyline while his creator embroiders her doilies. When Jane returns she finds the plot has moved on and Darcy is dancing to a different tune.
Award-winning comedy duo LipService, makers of Withering Looks and Inspector Norse celebrate Jane Autens's life 200 years on. LipService explore the world of women writers, scribbling in secret or under pseudonyms, squeezing in their writing amongst the hustle and bustle of taking tea, choosing chintz and having vapours.

Sort of ‘faithful’ in a LipService fashion to Jane Austen’s life story including her great love of needlework and quilting, LipService is working with textile artist Lisa Watson http://www.lisawatsontextiles.co.uk/ to develop the set for Mr Darcy Loses The Plot. LipService will be sharing the quilt as made so far with the Coliseum’s Full Circle group and a sharing of an in progress performance.
