An Oldham Coliseum Theatre Production
As the gas lights flicker in the drawing room of number nine Thornton Square and the floorboards creak overhead, newly wed Bella Manningham becomes convinced that she’s losing her mind just as her mother did before her. Her memories are haunted by an aunt violently murdered and a mother consigned to the asylum.
Is the terror all in her mind or are there dark secrets dwelling in her home?
The surprise arrival of Rough, a retired detective, leads to a shocking discovery that shakes her respectable marriage to its core. Nail biting tension is worked up to a frightening crescendo…
Gaslight is a Victorian mystery thriller by Patrick Hamilton, author of literary classics Hangover Square and 20,000 Streets Under The Sky. In 1944 Gaslight was adapted into the classic film starring Ingrid Bergman.
