Dementia Friendly Performance: The Kitchen Sink
Wednesday 14 February 2018, 2.30pm
Oldham Coliseum Theatre is delighted to produce its second Dementia Friendly performance with The Kitchen Sink on Wednesday 14 February, 2.30pm.
The Kitchen Sink is a modern comedy focussing on family and the hopes and struggles of each member; this performance has been specially picked to be the Coliseum’s follow-up to the Dementia Friendly performance of Spring and Port Wine in April 2017.
Many people with dementia have spent a lifetime going to theatre and concerts. A diagnosis of dementia can reduce a person’s confidence, and can cause isolation. This performance reconnects people with dementia, together with their friends and family, to life-enhancing shows at the Coliseum.
“When you get to a certain age, and you are indoors all day, getting out like this is so worthwhile.” – a person with dementia.
Please note that pastoral care is not provided at this event. A friend, family member or carer must also attend.
