WHY ARE YOU MOVING?

Oldham Coliseum Theatre is 125yrs old and a majority of that has been spent at Fairbottom Street so it’s no surprise that the building is in need of some essential repair.

While we’re out of the building the heating and air-conditioning systems will be completely replaced to make sure the auditorium is warm in the winter and cool in the summer. We will also be reseating the entire auditorium which will provide a more comfortable experience for our customers, better sight lines and overall more comfortable night at the theatre.

None of this work could have been done if the Coliseum was producing theatre in the same building but we were determined to continue to programme a spring/summer season for 2012. This is why we found new venues in the local area to make sure we still produced an exciting season of theatre.
